Okay, I'm a Soccer Mom now!

Can't believe I'm saying it, but I am an official soccer Mom now (minus the mini-van!! ha!) Marissa played her first soccer game last Saturday. Due to the weather and the field being wet, they weren't able to get in a practice before their first game. She did really well, considering most of the time the kids didn't even know which goal to be running to! It was hilarious! She scored two goals though and it was so fun watching her! My brother captured her first goal and it was so cute. Here's a link to the video on YouTube if you'd like to see it! She was soo proud of herself--she is saying "I did it Grandpa!!!" :)

Another game tonight and another on Saturday and this will go on for 5 weeks. Life is just so busy, but so fun! We gave a garage sale in 2 weeks and then we leave for Disneyworld in 3 weeks--we are sooo ready to get away for a vacation!

Have a great week everyone! Until next time....

Preparing for Easter!

Yesterday was an awesome day! Phillip had to work in the morning, so Marissa and I decided to go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and she was just SO good. We visited my Grandma and went to Walmart and we then came home and colored Easter eggs (what a messy tradition, but the best way of getting the dye off of your hands is Lava soap--comes right off! Read that on the internet!). Later in the day after Phillip got home, we went to the park in Hope with our friends, Glen and TeAnn, and their daughter Jenna. The girls had fun and we enjoyed the sunshine--even walked over to this little ice cream place and had an ice cream cone (well, THEY did...had to use willpower--grand total weight loss to date is 53.8 lbs and I'm not messing that up!)

It was a beautiful day and it seems that warm weather is finally on it's way here to Indiana next week! Hoping for a beautiful Easter morning and day to celebrate what Jesus did for all of us! Blessings, Kristi

March 2010

It's March already! We have had a few days in Indiana where it actually feels like spring and it has done wonders for all of us. It's amazing how a little sunshine makes you feel so much better! With all of our snow this winter, we are happy to say that the big piles of snow that were lingering since our snows in February are GONE!

This month we signed Marissa up for soccer and cannot wait to begin going to her games in April! She has shown such an interest in it, so we thought we'd go ahead and try it this year! Last week Mom and I went to buy her soccer cleats and shin guards and she LOVED trying them on and parading around the house in them pretending to be a big soccer star!

I'm STILL on Weight Watchers and have lost 50 lbs! I cannot believe that I have actually stayed with the program. It's been the easiest "diet" I have been on, although at times it hasn't been easy! It works for me, however I tell people that whenever someone REALLY decides to lose weight, I think anything will work. I feel sooo much better and cannot believe the newfound energy I have. I still have more to lose, but I feel that this is a great start!

Phillip is doing well at his job and continues to love it. I'm still at the law office and it's as busy there as ever!
We are gearing up for a big vacation to Disneyworld/Florida in early May and Marissa cannot stop talking about it. My Mom, Dad and Chad are going with us as well. Marissa got a new suitcase for her birthday and it has not been put away yet because she wants to talk about what she wants to pack for her trip DAILY. Can't wait for a nice break--this is our first big family vacation, other than a few short weekend trips.

Well, I think I'm updated for now. I forget that some of you are not on Facebook and that you aren't getting updated as often. Thanks for continuing to look at our blog and care about our family. We love you all!

Love,

Kristi

Where is my baby? She is 4 now!!

We had a fabulous 4th birthday party at our house for Marissa. It was a Strawberry Shortcake theme (can't believe that I grew up with Strawberry Shortcake and she's back for this new generation! Marissa really wanted to have it our house this year, rather than at the Parks Dept. So...Mommy spent the whole month getting ready to have about 30 people at our house. I loved every minute of it though. Next year I'm sure we'll do it at Kidzone or Chuck E. Cheese with her little friends, but it was really special having it at home. She gots lots of neat gifts and we had a great time with her. I just cannot believe how 4 years ago our lives totally changed in such a wonderful day. Everyone told me that time would fly, but I now believe it. We have cherished every moment with her and we just thank God for her every day!!

February - First Trip to Dentist and Lots O' Snow

February was an eventful month! Marissa went to the dentist for the first time and had NO cavities (was so proud of her for taking care of her teeth!). Also, Marissa and I have been having lots of fun in the kitchen. We made Valentine's Day cookies for all of the kids in the church nursery and had a blast! We had tons of snow in February!! Phillip and I are huge fans of snow, but by the end of February, we were SICK of it!! I'm not sure how many times Phillip had to plow our driveway, but we made it through!

Love,

Kristi

January - 2010 Tubing!!

January just flew by! We went to Perfect Slopes North with our church group and it was a blast! Marissa wanted to go down the slopes a million times, but Mommy and Daddy grew very tired after awhile! :) A great memory!

Christmas - the best yet!

Wow, I am just so far behind again. Where does the time go? Here are some pictures from Christmas!! It was the best yet with Marissa-she was sooo into it!!

Some of the highlights...

1. Riding the Polar Express!

2. Making a cake for Jesus!

3. Santa Claus coming to our house!

Until next time...
